Description
As the
SCORM-conformant infrastructure matures and SCORM's adoption
spreads, opportunities emerge for new work processes, like re-use
of course components and on-line training materials of all sorts.
People will want to manage and search repositories, combine
off-the-shelf elements into their own course designs, comparison
shop for courses on the subject, and so on.
New software
features and even new product categories must be created. And
demand for new tools extends across the many SCORM Communities of
Practice: US DoD, Federal Government, higher
educations, K-12 school systems in the
US
and in several other countries, healthcare professional
education, workforce training and more.
This year's
eLearning Summit
will involve participants and expert
panelists in a conversation about "SCORM Tools: What We Have, and
What We'll Need." The summit will take place at the
University of
Memphis
's FedEx Institute of Technology on Tuesday and
Wednesday, October 30 – 31, 2007.
This year's meeting will address the concerns of
many stakeholders:
- Representatives from all eLearning sectors: K-12, higher
education and enterprise training
- Instructional designers
- Training managers and learning officers
- Representatives of industry and education sectors
- Software vendors and training developers
- LMS/LCMS vendors
- Content providers
